Elizabeth Lima

ELA and Orton-Gillingham

Elizabeth Lima was born and raised on a farm near Dayton, Ohio where she went on and obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education through The University of Dayton. Following college Elizabeth was hired in multiple capacities through Huber Heights City Schools. Elizabeth has experience teaching grades K-6 and has specialized in Literacy utilizing the Orton Gillingham approach. Through Huber Heights City Schools Elizabeth served on the Ohio Improvement Committee, led multiple district wide staff development courses and was awarded Teacher of the Year in 2009. Elizabeth has also obtained her Orton Gillingham Classroom Educator certification through IMSE (the Institute of Multisensory Education). After 17 years with Huber Heights, Elizabeth followed her son to Troy Christian Schools and enjoyed teaching 5th grade ELA and History for a year before moving to Florida.

Elizabeth is a mom at heart and enjoys homeschooling her 3 boys, Colt, Cody and Matteo. Colt and Cody have homeschooled for 5 years and this is Matteo’s 2nd year. Although Elizabeth did very well in college, the early years of schooling were a bit of a catch up game. Elizabeth’s passion lies in working with students who may need a different approach or just be struggling a bit, like she was early on. While Literacy is her specialty, Elizabeth loves to work with all academic subjects. Learning should be multi-faceted and fun with a personal approach.

When not teaching Elizabeth loves spending time with family and friends near the water, playing with her 3 dogs and riding bikes with the family.
