6-12 Math & Science, Test Prep

Jimmy is a retired Air Force aviator who spent most of his 23 years in service as a Navigator on the B-52 Stratofortress. He continues his service to our great country and the Air Force as a contractor working as a Software Test Engineer for Mission Planning Software on Eglin AFB. Jimmy graduated from the United States Air Force Academy with a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering and has always had a desire to share his love of math through teaching. As an Air Force Officer, he has had many opportunities to teach. As a Navigator, he was selected not only as an instructor for other Navigators, but also as an Evaluator and ultimately graduated from the USAF Weapons School, whose graduates are the top instructors for their aircraft communities. Jimmy also served as an instructor for the US Air Operations Center school house where service members from all branches went to learn to command and employ Air Operations before being deployed to one of the many AOCs around the world.

After retirement from the Air Force, he spent 6 years teaching upper-level math and sciences along with several computer introduction courses to high school students at Logos Home School Academy. That led to tutoring students who wanted higher level courses that were not offered at Logos which included test prep tutoring for the ACT/SAT. He loves test taking, the psychology behind it, and especially the idea that he can help students gain confidence in this area as a big step to reaching their life goals. In his down time, Jimmy enjoys creating in his woodshop and getting out on the golf course as much as possible and when not doing any of this, loves rooting loudly for his beloved University of Alabama – ROLL TIDE!
