MS, HS, & Test Prep

I am a graduate of Indiana University.  My undergraduate degree is my biggest passion. I majored in philosophy because I love to think deeply about everything, whether it was dreaming about being a botanist or dreaming about being a biblical studies scholar.  My professional graduate degree is in Library Science so I have a Master's from IU. I went into Library science because I wanted to bring the world to the children in all communities.  I started my professional career in an Appalachian community in Kentucky.  I hail from Indiana, but my heritage is in Kentucky. My ancestors were immigrants from Scotland and Ireland.

I have been a professional librarian for over 20 years working as a manager, director, and children's librarian in three states.  Recently I was the Children's Librarian at the Destin City Library. Now I'm happy to say that I am a teacher for the Lakewood Christian School in Crestview, Florida, which is my current home.  At Lakewood Christian School, I have taught Middle School students, everything from Reading to History to Math. Next year, I'll be working mostly with the high school students at Lakewood teaching Math.  I absolutely love logic and algebra. While I was at Indiana University, I was the symbolic logic tutor for the college. I also taught Philosophy for Children for the gifted and talented summer camp at Indiana University.

Not only have I been a professional librarian for over 20 years, I've also been a homeschool mom for 20 years teaching all subjects in the classical education style. While I was in Indiana, some of my students drove an hour and a half just to get to my classes. It was so much fun to see them excited about Christian Aesthetics, Logic, or Ethics.  I was also the teacher who could get them through their math class without going crazy!

So whether you are just learning how to read–no matter how old you might be–I can take care of that. And if you want to understand the relevance of ancient history or the connection between European and American history, I would be happy to help. And of course, if you believe Math was invented to make you miserable, then I can certainly help!
