Patricia Kaminski
6th-12th Math
As an experienced Electrical Engineer who also has a Bachelor’s in Education, Training, and Development, I have a passion to pass on my love of math. I’ve seen that a lot of difficulties with math involve being intimidated by the complex tasks. Breaking those down and thinking of the useful applications of advanced math gives learning those complex tasks new practical meaning and can motivate.
Dedicated to the student’s grasp and motivation, I’ve been able to work from their understanding to empower the student to excel. In the past I’ve been able to work with elementary students in my daughter’s class, as well as with adults who had previous high school difficulties in math but needed to pass Algebra and Pre-Calculus in college. Personally, I have enjoyed most math and understanding its application, this included the use of Calculus in Electromagnetics. Using Linear Algebra concepts in MATLAB has made those classes more meaningful, fulfilling, and exciting. Physics classes were some of my favorites too, and I would love to assist students in those courses. In my work life I’ve been privileged to train and teach Junior Engineers, which I find super rewarding.
